Ever feel like a night out? Or, like a night in? You’re not alone, and in this course we’ll explore the “where” behind both of those feelings. Join us as we examine the geography of daily life and ask how we, as humans, create places like “home” and “out.” From historians and philosophers to anthropologists, poets, and musicians, we’ll draw upon a variety of perspectives to consider how we have made, and re-make, sense of our physical environment. Alongside “home” and “work,” we’ll also consider those “third spaces” where we hang out, relax, and enjoy life – like the Community Classroom! As winter’s call to return home softens, and spring begins to call us “out,’ join us for an engaging evening as we sketch the map of our daily lives. See you there!
What: Dessert and Discourse in the Community Classroom
